Current Favourites

Hi lovelies! Can you believe it's already February? I'm still coming to terms with how fast the year is going. I haven't been blogging as much as I would like to, and I'm determined to change that this month. I thought I'd post some of my current favourites since I absolutely love reading these types of posts from other bloggers. First off is my favourite album, which is Vessel by the Kite String Tangle. I absolutely fell in love with their song Given the Chance and decided to download the rest of their album. My new favourite song is now Stone Cold!

The next one is one I know every single person has been raving about lately, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. Even with all the good reviews I was still a bit hesitant to purchase it, since it was $65 from Mecca. But now that I have it I can honestly say if you don't have this one already, you definitely need to go pick it up! I think I've actually used it every day I've worn makeup since buying it. It's amazing for both every day wear and night time occasions.

Since we're on the topic of makeup, I would like to share my current go-to lipstick. It's a cremesheen by Mac and is called Pure Zen. It's the perfect "your lips but better" colour and I wear it when I'm not in the mood for anything bold or dramatic. As an added bonus it's also super moisturizing!

Being a uni student and coffee addict has made me buy a lot of coffee over the years, especially from cafes at uni. Going into my third year I thought it would be a good idea to purchase an actual coffee machine. I like to think it's saving me money, but I'm also intrigued by the many flavoured pods Nespresso offers. I am now the proud owner of a Breville Nespresso Inissia Coffee Machine! I chose the white one but they have so many bright colours.

It comes with a milk frother so you're able to make your own at home cappuccinos! I've used it twice already and am honestly in love with my new baby.

That's all my current favourites at the moment! I've already started planning future posts so hopefully they will be a bit more interesting than this one. Thank you for reading guys!

Kiss The Berry

The other day I went with my friend Maddi to Kiss The Berry, which is a lovely cafe located in South Bank just along the river. They specialise in acai bowls which are super healthy and delicious. I got the Snickers Delight which has cacao on top, and let me tell you I licked that bowl clean.

For $11.50 I'd definitely say it's worth it. I also love how they've decorated the place with a wall of plants and wooden accents. It attracts a lot of younger people and is a super relaxed place to chill.

After finishing our bowls we decided to go shopping in the city, and jumped on a bus because it was waay to hot to walk along the bridge. I may have gone a little bit crazy with the shopping and spent more than I should have. Ah well, there goes last week's pay. Does anyone else have an addiction to shopping?! I make up these imaginary scenarios in my head which justify me buying something.

I got a new nail file from Sportsgirl ($5), that has a lovely floral print on the back, as well as a silver necklace ($30) that will go with anything. We popped into Peter Alexander and I fell in love with the pink slippers! They were only $19 so I decided to grab them and they are so so soft. At the end we wandered around looking at makeup and I picked up a Mac lipstick in Velvet Teddy that everyone has been talking about, so I finally gave in and bought it. The last thing I bought that I'm still trying to justify to myself, are a pair of tweezers from Mecca for $40! They are really good quality but looking back I probably shouldn't have gotten them since I'm trying to save money. Last but not least I went to Topshop and picked up the cropped ribbed tee that I've seen quite a few people wearing, and for $18 I decided to buy one in every colour hehe. Thanks to anyone reading, I'm really enjoying blogging so far. It's been a bit hectic as I'm apartment hunting at the moment, but I'm so excited to move out. I'll make sure to blog about it too!

Hi, Welcome To My Blog

I'm so excited to be starting a new blog this year! What better time to start than the new year. Hi, my name is Ailsa! It's a Scottish name pronounced "ale-sa", in case you were wondering. I'm from Brisbane, Australia and am nineteen years old. (I'm mildly frightened at turning twenty this year.) I've had a few blogs in the past but failed to update them due to the stress of school and laziness. But now that I'm in my third year out of high school I feel like I want to make a real effort and document some of the things I get up to. I'm moving out of home next month and that is another reason I wanted to start a blog again, as I'm starting this next chapter of my life. The url I have is a nickname my mum gave me when I was younger. I'm not sure what exactly I will blog about, and could be anything from a beauty post to where I went to eat for lunch. I keen to start posting. But in the meantime please don't hesitate to say hi because who doesn't love making new buddies?!
